Care Instructions

Caring for Your Handcrafted Hardwood Piece

Your Hopkins Hardwood Design piece is made from real hardwood and designed to last for years with proper care.

Cleaning
Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap after use. Wipe or rinse both sides when possible to help the wood dry evenly. Dry thoroughly with a clean towel and allow the piece to finish air-drying before storing.

Do Not

Do not put your piece in the dishwasher.
Do not soak or submerge it in water.
Do not leave it sitting wet.
Do not leave it in a hot car for prolonged periods.
Do not use bleach or harsh cleaning chemicals.
Do not place it in the microwave or oven.

Conditioning
Periodically apply a food-grade mineral oil or wood conditioner to help prevent the wood from drying out. Apply a generous, even coat, allow it to absorb, then wipe away any excess with a clean cloth.

For additional protection and a smooth finish, we recommend our Hopkins Hardwood Design Board Conditioner, made specifically for maintaining wooden cutting and serving pieces.

Natural Wood
Wood is a natural material and will respond to changes in moisture, temperature, and humidity. Proper cleaning, drying, and conditioning will help maintain the beauty and integrity of your piece for years to come.
